Rusty

Meet Rusty! This 2-year-old, 12-pound bundle of charm is looking for his forever family, and he's not shy about letting you know he's ready to love you completely. Rusty is a true mixed breed with a delightful mix of what we think might be Dachshund, Beagle, and Chihuahua. Whatever his lineage, the result is one gorgeous pup with silky fur and head-turning coloring.

Rusty's love language is snuggles, and he's eager to give and receive them! He'll happily curl up with you and stay there indefinitely. Given the choice, he'd rather sleep tucked under the covers, but he's also perfectly happy in a crate. He's playful, endlessly affectionate, and greets everyone like an old friend. He's also house-trained and ready to settle into a loving routine.

Ideal Home

Rusty is looking for a home where he can be the center of attention. He does best as the only pet, so no cats, please! While he's currently doing fine with other dogs in his foster home, he'll truly thrive as the one and only. He's also looking for a single-family home with no shared walls, so he can feel fully settled and secure.

Ongoing Health

Rusty is working through some separation anxiety and is making great progress. He'll be happiest in a home where someone is around more often than not.

Transporation

Rusty is located in the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. We are a foster home-based rescue and do home visits as part of the adoption process. We are unable to adopt to families who live outside of this area.
