Howey

Howard, or Howey as he’s affectionately known, is an energetic 8-month-old Cattle Dog/Lab mix with a heart full of love and a playful spirit! He and his mother were found abandoned on a highway, but Howey has put that behind him and is ready for his forever family. He's a smart cookie who knows "sit," responds well to "no," and is wonderfully food-motivated. Leash-trained and eager to please, he'll even come when called and happily hop into his crate. When he's not playing fetch or splashing in his baby pool, Howey loves to snuggle up and will even let out a funny little grunt if you disturb his sleep! He’s a great combination of active and calm, and with daily walks or activities, he’ll be a perfect companion.

Ideal Home

Howey would thrive in an active home where he can get daily exercise. He does play a little too rough with dogs under 10 lbs due to his size and exuberance, so a home with larger dog friends or one where he can be the sole canine companion would be ideal. He ignores cats and chickens, so they aren't a concern.

Ongoing Health

Howey had a great vet exam and is up-to-date on vaccinations, meaning he won't need any more for a year! He was neutered and microchipped, and has been wormed with Panacur. He is current on Nexgard Plus for heartworm and flea prevention.

Training & Support

Howey is already crate-trained and housebroken. He knows "sit" and responds well to "no." His food motivation makes him a joy to train.

Howey is located in Tylertown, Mississippi, but we do adopt out of state and can arrange transportation.
