Tex is a lively two-and-a-half-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix with a beautiful red speckled coat that mirrors his energetic and attentive spirit. This medium-sized boy, weighing around 35 pounds, thrives on connection and loves being right by your side, happily keeping you company throughout the day. He is affectionate and loyal, forming strong bonds with his caregivers and showing his love by staying close and patiently waiting for shared moments. Tex is also friendly with other dogs, bringing a playful, social energy to every interaction!
Ideal Home
Tex would do best in an adult-only home or a home with older teens who understand herding breeds. He needs a caring environment where his energy and intelligence are appreciated and where he can continue building confidence in a calm and supportive setting.

Training & Support
Tex is wonderfully trained and responsive, knowing commands like sit, stay, leave it, and place. He enjoys learning through positive reinforcement and structure. He is house-trained, crate-trained, and settles nicely when left alone. Like many in his breed, Tex has a strong herding instinct, particularly around fast-moving children. In situations where he became overstimulated, Tex has bitten, and one incident resulted in a bite that required medical attention. He needs someone committed to ongoing, structured training with a professional, as he has shown real capacity for growth with consistency and positive reinforcement.
