Candy

Candy is a sweet, 1-year-old Dachshund/Chihuahua mix who is ready to find her forever home! She was rescued along with 15 other dogs from a difficult hoarding situation. These pups were sadly neglected, facing fleas, worms, and a lack of attention. Candy has been through a lot, but her sweet nature shines through, and she is eager to please her people. She weighs around 10 pounds and is looking for a patient family to help her blossom into the confident companion she's meant to be.

Ideal Home

Candy would thrive in a home that can offer her patience and understanding as she adjusts to her new life. She does well with other dogs but will need time to acclimate. Unfortunately, Candy is not a good fit for homes with cats.

Ongoing Health

Candy has been spayed, vaccinated, de-wormed, treated for fleas and ticks, and is heartworm negative. She also received a Proheart6 injection for prevention and is microchipped.

Training & Support

Candy is not house-trained and has some submissive tinkles, which will require a patient approach. She can be a bit skittish around new people but truly loves attention and wants to make her humans happy.

• A home visit and vet reference will be part of the process.
• All current pets in the home must be spayed or neutered and current on heartworm prevention.
