Bailey-Sue is a 4-year-old, 57lb spayed female pittie mix who is playful, affectionate, and brave. She came to us from the Houston shelter after surviving physical abuse. It took months for her to trust again, but her resilience and gentle spirit now shine through. She just needs a patient, loving home willing to let her open up at her own pace. Once she does, she's pure love! Bailey-Sue adores children and currently lives with kids from 3 to 17 years old. She is gentle, patient, and happiest when surrounded by her family. She is fully house-trained and crate-trained, sleeping quietly through the night. She has never shown any food or toy guarding and has great manners! Bailey-Sue is affectionate, smart, playful, and sometimes a little silly. She loves chew toys, car rides, and spending time with her people. When meeting strangers, she can be cautious at first, a mix of curiosity and nerves, but once she warms up, her tail wags nonstop. Because of her past, Bailey-Sue needs a home that understands she may take time to feel safe and confident. With love, patience, and structure, Bailey-Sue blossoms into the loyal, trusting companion she was always meant to be.
Ideal Home
Bailey-Sue needs a home that understands she may take time to feel safe and confident. She may bark or seem unsure around new people or dogs, but her reactions are rooted in fear, not aggression.
Ongoing Health
Bailey-Sue is a spayed female and is up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccinations.
Training & Support
Bailey-Sue is fully house-trained and crate-trained. She walks nicely on a leash once she's had a chance to burn off some energy. Continued leash work will help her be her best self. She loves to play with other dogs but likes to take things slow when meeting new friends. She has done best with dogs around 30-80 lbs and may do particularly well with a calm male dog who can match her energy and help her feel confident. Slow introductions are key to her success.
