Oso is a deeply loving 5-year-old German Shepherd/Hound mix with soulful eyes and a heart of gold. He doesn't offer his affection to just anyone, but when he chooses you, you become his entire world. His foster mom is his absolute favorite, and seeing him light up when she enters the room is pure magic – his tail wags, his whole body softens, and this gentle, quiet boy transforms into the sweetest love bug imaginable. He’s a master at soaking up pets, leaning in for cuddles, and reminding you daily of his adoration. Oso is a wonderfully low-maintenance and low-energy companion, content with a comfy nap spot, leisurely walks, occasional car rides, and his favorite people nearby. He's truly mastered the art of relaxation.
Ideal Home
Oso can coexist peacefully with other dogs and has excellent canine manners, making him respectful and drama-free. He doesn't need to be the center of attention and would be happy as an only dog or with canine friends. He has shown promise with cats, being polite, respectful, and giving them space, suggesting he could do well in a home with cat-savvy felines. Oso can be a little shy when meeting new people and appreciates being allowed to approach new faces and unfamiliar situations at his own pace.
Ongoing Health
Oso's medical care is comprehensive and includes vetting, DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12-month heartworm preventative injectable, and heartworm test and treatment if needed.
Training & Support
Oso can be a little shy when meeting new people, and new faces or unfamiliar situations can make him nervous. He appreciates patience, kindness, and tasty treats to help his personality bloom. Our trainers at our Texas facility have worked with Oso on crate training, potty training, and leash walking, and provide individualized behavior plans.
