Maple is an 8.5-year-old Shepherd/Lab mix who weighs about 50 pounds. She's spayed, heartworm negative, house trained, crate trained, and knows her basic commands. Maple is a mature, well-established dog looking for the right next chapter. She is being rehomed due to challenges adjusting to life with a newborn in the home. She became overly protective of the baby and corrected another household dog who approached too closely. The other dog was not injured and did not require veterinary care, but her family recognizes that Maple would be happiest in a calmer environment better suited to her comfort level. In most situations, Maple is a friendly, loyal companion who does well with people and other dogs. She is protective of her home and family, true to her Shepherd side, and appreciates structure and clear boundaries. She is not a fit for homes with cats. If you're looking for a smart, devoted dog with years of love left to give, Maple may be the perfect addition to your home.
