Meet Juice (though his foster calls him Joey!), a charming 4-year-old, 56 lb neutered Black Mouth Cur mix with the most soulful eyes you've ever seen. He's a sweet boy who's been through a lot and is now dreaming of a calm, loving home to finally call his own. Juice is a natural cuddler who adores his toys, but his favorite pastime is simply being by your side, resting his head and paw on your arm – it’s his own special way of saying "I love you." While he can be a bit shy and wary with new faces at first, slow and gentle introductions will help him build trust, and once he does, his loyalty and devotion are boundless.
Ideal Home
Juice would thrive in a quiet home with patient, soft-spoken adults. He needs a home without cats, as he will chase them. He'd also be happiest as the only dog in the home, where he can soak up all the love and attention.
Ongoing Health
Juice has shown some food aggression with other dogs, which has been managed by feeding him separately in his crate. He may still guard high-value treats, but this is easily managed by respecting his boundaries.
Training & Support
Juice can pull on the leash when excited and is working on this. Harsh corrections can make him feel guilty and cower, so he responds best to patience and kindness. He is crated when left alone due to his love for chewing, and while he is mostly house-trained, occasional potty accidents have occurred. He also may need a little help getting into cars, but he always enjoys a ride!
