Queen Bessie

Queen Bessie is a truly special girl who adores a good booty scratch and loves to snuggle on the couch. She's always keeping an eye on her humans and loves to interact, especially if she thinks you might be feeling a bit under the weather – she's so intuitive and thoughtful! Once she feels comfortable, Bessie also enjoys some playful roughhousing and cuddling with her best friend, Draco. They can entertain each other for hours, followed by a long nap together – they are the ultimate besties! Bessie was rescued from the county shelter, where she was facing euthanasia due to overcrowding. She's overcome a tough start with humans and is now dreaming of a forever home with a family who will cherish her always. Could that be you?

Ideal Home

Bessie would love a home where she can roughhouse and snuggle with her favorite buddy. We don't know how she is with cats or children.

Bessie is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed.

Training & Support

Bessie is kennel and potty trained. She also has a best buddy named Draco, and they enjoy playing together.

Application Details:

• Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
• We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas to your state or a neighboring state. These are ground transports using third party vehicles (vans/buses) converted for dog transport. Each adopter has the ability to track the van using the app Life360, and receives updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are another resource to stay informed on tracking dogs on transport. Please be able to use one of these available services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport.
• Our adoption fees are based on the vetting we put into each dog. Fees for puppies (under 12 months) are higher because they require more vetting than dogs over 1 year.
• Listed breed and age are based on a best guess estimation by rescue and veterinary staff; DNA tests are not included in adoption.
• Our adopters are eligible to receive 50% off training with Curbed Behaviors Dog Training for programs booked within 30 days of adoption, and 25% off programs booked within 60-90 days of adoption.
• All of our adopters are invited to join our “Alum Pupdates” Facebook group, to share their story and their adorable pup with fellow Sunnyside Street Dogs adopters!

Transportation

Queen Bessie is located in Houston, TX. Transport is included in the adoption fee. Please note that pickup locations for transported dogs may vary and could be in a nearby town, county, or state.
