Lucrecia

Lucrecia is a beautiful female Rhodesian Ridgeback mix with an estimated age of 3 years. She weighs approximately 33 lbs and measures 24 inches in length and 22 inches in height. Lucrecia was found as a stray wandering the streets of Saltillo, Mexico, and was initially distrustful. She has a courageous spirit and is now safe and loved in her foster home. She is an intelligent, affectionate, playful, and very active dog who enjoys the company of her foster siblings.

Ideal Home

Lucrecia would thrive in a home with homeowners who have a fenced backyard. Families who enjoy outdoor activities and have experience with the Rhodesian Ridgeback breed are ideal. She needs a family with an open mind about the needs of rescued street animals, who understands their journey of protection and education. Experience in dog behavior and training, along with high tolerance and patience for rescued pups, is essential.

Ongoing Health

Lucrecia has received excellent veterinary care. She is spayed and has a certificate for it. Her vaccinations include DHPPI, Rabies, and Bordetella. She has been dewormed and tested for 4DX and heartworm, both with negative certificates. She receives monthly preventive protection with Nexgard Spectra for fleas, ticks, and heartworms. She also has a health certificate and vaccination booklet. She previously had an injured front paw, which was treated by a vet for a puncture wound, inflammation, and infection, and she has fully recovered.

Training & Support

Lucrecia is not house-trained. The rescue team is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of their rescued pets, but due to the large number of animals in foster care, individual house-training for each pet is not always possible. Potential adopters should be prepared to work on house-training with Lucrecia.

• Phone/Email Interview: If your application is approved, or if we have further questions, we will schedule a brief interview with everyone in the potential adoptive household.
• Home Check: A team member will conduct a virtual or in-person home visit to ensure it's a suitable environment for the dog.
• Meet n Greet: A virtual meet and greet will be arranged with you, the prospective pup, and the foster home.
• Trial Adoption Period: If it's a good fit, an adoption contract will be provided with specific instructions for integrating Lucrecia into your home. Close communication with the ADAC team is crucial during this phase.

Transportation

Lucrecia is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our cross-country trip if adopted. The transport fee is $400.00 and will be paid by the adopter prior to departure. The transport service is provided by a company and delivers directly to the adopter's home address.
