Phoebe

Phoebe is a 2.5-year-old, 60-pound Pitbull Terrier mix who is full of love and ready to find her forever family. She's a sweet girl with lots of puppy energy, but she also knows how to relax. Phoebe loves to snuggle up on a warm lap or a furry blanket. She enjoys playing tug-of-war, lounging in the sun, swimming, and running long distances. She's especially fond of sticks and toys! Phoebe is a very disciplined and athletic dog, training for an hour every day to burn off her energy and obey commands. She is house-trained, kennel-trained, and sleeps through the night. If you're an active person who enjoys sports and athletics, Phoebe would be the perfect partner to help you achieve your goals and make your training fun! She's even trained to run alongside owners who are skating or cycling, and she responds well to commands, focusing on the direction you indicate and ignoring distractions. Phoebe also likes to use a pet backpack and will happily carry your water.

Ideal Home

Phoebe would thrive in a home with owners who have experience with the Pitbull breed and enjoy an active lifestyle with daily exercise and challenges. She needs a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. While she is a rescue, potential adopters should have an open mind about the behaviors of rescued animals and understand their need for protection and education. Previous experience in dog behavior and training is a plus, as is high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies. Phoebe cannot be in a home with children or other dogs, especially territorial ones.

Ongoing Health

Phoebe has received a comprehensive health protocol, including spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI vaccine, rabies vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, a negative heartworm test certificate, and monthly flea, tick, and heartworm preventive protection. She also received a health certificate.

Training & Support

Phoebe has received extensive training, including at Gray Wolf Canine Rehabilitation in Houston, TX. She is house-trained, kennel-trained, and follows commands diligently. The person who adopts her will continue to receive support and advice from her trainer.

• After application approval or if we have further questions, a phone/email interview will be scheduled with all household members present.
• A home check, either in-person or virtual, will be conducted to ensure your home is a suitable fit.
• A virtual meet-and-greet will be arranged with you, Phoebe, and her foster home.
• If all parties agree it's a good fit, an adoption contract will be provided, and a trial adoption period will begin.

Transportation

Phoebe is currently being fostered in Leominster, Massachusetts, and is ready to travel to other cities. Transportation is available to deliver her to your home address.
