Ferrari, a charming 3-year-old, 50-pound pup, is a bundle of friendly, medium energy ready to find his forever home! He enjoys the simple pleasures in life: napping, soaking up the sun, and keeping his humans company while they go about their day. Ferrari has a history of being good with dogs, cats, and children. He tends to politely ignore the cats in his foster home and has a special fondness for school buses, hinting at happy memories of greeting children.
Ferrari is generally quiet, coming alive for walks and meal times. He occasionally expresses a bit of separation anxiety when left alone, but his foster family is actively working on this with him. He's a well-behaved boy who respects his toys and has never shown destructive tendencies. Ferrari knows basic commands like "sit" and "lie down" and is eager to learn more! While he's still perfecting his leash manners, he's making great progress. He absolutely adores car rides, hugs, and meeting new people, treating everyone like an old friend. Ferrari enjoys long hikes, quickly picking up new skills, and loves wearing his backpack, even carrying his own water. Due to his tendency to overheat, he'll need some protection (like a coat) when temperatures rise above 80°F. His foster provides him with water on shorter walks. He's also content to relax in his crate if you need to step out without him. Ferrari is house-trained and crate-trained, though he may vocalize a bit when left alone in his crate. He'd be a wonderful companion for a busy family or someone who enjoys spending most of their day at home.
Ideal Home
Ferrari would be a perfect dog for a busy family, as well as would love a family that spends home most of the day.
Ongoing Health
Ferrari can get overheated easily, so some sort of clothing is a must when its above 80F – and water.
Training & Support
He sometimes cries when left alone, and his foster are working on it. He knows commands like "sit" "lie down" "come" and so on - and he is ready to learn more if you are willing to teach. He is not perfect of leash yet, but is getting better each day. He is house trained, and crate trained (thou may cry in crate when left alone; a little reasoning with calm voice helps).
