Chillon is a 5-year-old, 68-pound neutered Lab/Pit mix with movie-star good looks and a sweet, goofy personality. He has soulful amber eyes, a shiny black coat, and a collection of adorable pajamas that are sure to make you smile. Chillon was rescued from euthanasia at an overcrowded shelter in San Antonio, Texas, and has since made his way to the PNW. He is currently in a foster home in Burien, WA, and is ready for meet-and-greets.
Chillon came into rescue after his owner surrendered him, and he found himself on the euthanasia list at a local shelter through no fault of his own. Thankfully, he got his second chance and is now hoping to find the loving family he's been waiting for.
Ideal Home
Chillon needs another dog in the home to help him build confidence, as he can be nervous as a single dog. He warms up quickly to new people and is incredibly affectionate, silly, and loves to be close to his people. He enjoys playing with other dogs and has shown no signs of reactivity. While he hasn't been tested with cats, no issues are anticipated. A home with respectful, dog-savvy children ages 12 and up would be the best fit due to his initial timidity. Chillon thrives on routine and would do best in a home where someone is around for most of the day, such as a work-from-home household or one with staggered schedules. He's a "glue dog" who is happiest when included in family activities and would love a cozy couch for naps.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are mentioned in the description.
Training & Support
Chillon is house-trained and rides well in the car. He is smart and eager to please, making him a quick learner. He currently pulls on the leash, so his new family should be prepared to continue working on his leash manners. Long daily walks and regular activity will help him build confidence and settle. He can be a little worried about being left alone, so his new family should be prepared to help him work through some separation anxiety with patience and consistency.
