About Annie
Annie is a sweet, spunky Shih Tzu and poodle mix pup, estimated to be around 20 lbs when fully grown. She's about 3-4 months old and weighs 7 lbs. Annie is affectionate and adores being doted on by her humans. She's naturally curious, observant, and confident, always eager to investigate new things. She's a social butterfly who loves meeting new people and dog friends. Her friendly nature makes her a great companion for an active family. Annie is happy as long as she's with her humans, whether playing, cuddling, or exploring. She's playful and curious when it's time for fun, but also laid back and mellow when it's time to relax. She entertains herself with toys and enjoys naps. Annie would fit into a variety of homes, thriving with active families who enjoy the outdoors or families who prefer cozy evenings at home.
Ideal Home
Annie would love an active family that enjoys walks, exploring new places, spending time outdoors, and including their dog in everyday activities. She would also be happy with a family that enjoys cozy evenings at home filled with snuggles. She would love a fenced yard to run and play in. Annie would thrive in a home with another playful, friendly dog and some children to cuddle and play with, though she would also be happy as the "only child" getting all the attention. She would love to have fun adventures going on outings around town or visiting Sniff Spots for enrichment and playtime. She would prefer no public dog parks.
Ongoing Health
Annie is currently in good health. As she is starting to teethe, she will need chew toys to redirect any chewing from household items.
Training & Support
Annie is kennel trained and potty trained. She alerts her foster family when she needs to go outside by circling at the back door. A doggy doorbell is recommended to help her learn to notify you when she needs to go out. She needs a consistent schedule and to be taken out every few hours initially. Annie loves to go on outings in her neighborhood and is carried in a doggy pouch. She needs additional practice to perfect her leash-walking skills. She would love to have a family that is home more often than not, or someone who works a hybrid schedule or from home. If her humans work out of the home, a dog walker or doggy daycare mid-day is recommended. She would likely do well with older children experienced with smaller breeds who know how to handle her carefully, as she can be wiggly when excited and picked up. She has been around cats and is friendly towards them, but would do best with dog-friendly cats that have lived with dogs before. She would probably be too much for a senior dog not used to puppy energy.
