Huey is a handsome and athletic 2-year-old boy, estimated to be a Labrador mix, weighing around 56 lbs. With his distinctive, expressive ears and legs made for adventure, he's a perfect blend of energy and affection. Huey has been lovingly cared for in a foster home, where he's honed his skills to be a well-adjusted companion. He's incredibly smart, motivated, and responds well to confident leadership, thriving with clear boundaries. He's crate-trained, house-trained, and enjoys being a quiet shadow, following his people around the house. Huey also rides well in the car and is ready for any adventure, big or small, followed by a cozy nap.
Ideal Home
Huey would thrive in a home with a yard where he can run and play freely. He is not suited for apartment living due to his love for outdoor activity and the need for multiple potty breaks. While he has enjoyed busy environments in the past, including homes with children and other dogs, long-term cohabitation with children is not ideal for him. He would best be suited for a calm and structured home.
Ongoing Health
Huey's adoption fee includes all vetting, vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, microchipping, and preventative medications. While extensive medical care is provided, perfect health cannot be guaranteed.
Training & Support
Huey is house-trained and crate-trained. He responds well to structure and boundaries. A common behavior he exhibits is resource guarding, specifically around food. His fosters have managed this successfully by feeding him and other dogs in separate crates and avoiding offering treats or table scraps. A home without other dogs would eliminate this concern, or a home with experience managing resource guarding.

Transportation
Huey is available for adoption anywhere in the US. He can be transported to locations near or into NV, MT, CO, UT, ID, OR, WA, Canada, and the East Coast. Transportation details and pick-up arrangements will be provided.
