Gingersnap, a delightful 9-year-old, 9lb Pekingese mix, is a bundle of fun and affection! She was found as a stray in Houston and, although her past is unknown, she's clearly a survivor with a heart full of love to give. Her spunky personality and adorable antics are sure to bring joy to any home. Gingersnap is a friendly and confident girl who enjoys playing with other dogs, especially smaller, energetic pups. She's already charmed her foster siblings, particularly one special boy she constantly tries to engage in playtime.
Ideal Home
Gingersnap would thrive in a home with another very playful small dog to be her companion. Her adopter should be prepared to continue basic command training for her safety. While she's a confident pup and could fit into many different homes, a household without young children is recommended due to her tendency to be startled.
Ongoing Health
Gingersnap is currently undergoing heartworm treatment, and will be ready for her forever home in September.
Training & Support
Gingersnap is potty trained and crate trained, using her crate as a relaxing sanctuary. She walks well on a leash and is a fantastic travel companion in the car. She has shown no signs of separation anxiety when left alone. While she's generally great with handling, she can be startled if approached unexpectedly, letting out a small shriek. This has lessened in her foster home as she's become more accustomed to her surroundings and people. Continuing basic command training will be beneficial for her.

Transportation
All of our dogs are fostered in Houston, TX. However, we partner with reliable transport services to bring our dogs to over 30 cities across the United States. Adopters are also welcome to pick up their new family member directly from Houston. Once an adoption is finalized, our team will coordinate the best transportation plan with you.
