Olivia is a delightful 2-3-year-old female mix, weighing around 40 lbs, with the elegance of a Weimaraner. Rescued in Saltillo, Mexico, in September 2023, Olivia's journey began with hardship. She was found abandoned and in need of urgent care, possibly with a spinal or hip injury. Despite being thrown onto the street and facing malnourishment and neglect, Olivia has blossomed into an incredibly affectionate, funny, and grateful dog. She's independent and doesn't let her past slow her down, embracing life with joy and boundless energy. Olivia loves to make people happy and is always eager to share her love and attention with her family.
Ideal Home
Olivia would thrive as the "only dog" in her home. A securely fenced backyard is essential for her safety and enjoyment. Her ideal family will have a deep understanding of the needs of rescued animals and be willing to provide patience and education as she continues to adjust and show her true personality. This home should have experience with dog behavior and training, and a high tolerance for a rescued pup.
Ongoing Health
Olivia is up-to-date on all her vaccinations, including DHPPI, Rabies, and Bordetella. She has been spayed, dewormed, and tested negative for heartworm. She is also on monthly preventive treatment for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. She is documented to have a possible spinal or hip injury and is being managed with ongoing care.
Training & Support
Olivia is not house-trained. Her foster family has been dedicated to her rehabilitation, but due to the number of animals they care for, they are unable to provide house-training for each pet. Her new family will need to commit to a transition period of at least three months to allow her to fully decompress and reveal her best personality. Patience and consistency will be key to her success.
