At approximately 70 pounds, Gloria is a big girl with an even bigger heart. She's sweet, affectionate, playful, and eager to make new friends, always wanting to be involved in whatever's happening around her. Gloria has done exceptionally well meeting new people and frequently checks in with her humans to make sure everyone is doing just fine. Belly rubs, back scratches, butt scratches, and a good brushing session are some of her favorite things. After some fun and attention, she's perfectly content to spend a warm afternoon napping indoors. Her friendly, easygoing nature extends to children as well, and she has been gentle and affectionate with the kids she has met.
Gloria has been thriving in her foster home after being spayed and officially retiring from motherhood. She settled in with remarkable ease, taking just a few days to observe household routines, get to know her family, and meet the resident pets before making herself right at home. She quickly became friends with the resident dogs and has shown herself to be a wonderful companion. Now that her mothering duties are complete, it's finally Gloria's turn. She has already proven herself to be a devoted mom; now she's ready to be a cherished family member. Gloria is looking for a home that will give her the love, comfort, and happily-ever-after she so richly deserves.
Ideal Home
Gloria has a moderate energy level and would love a home with a securely fenced yard where she can run, play, and stretch her long legs. She prefers cooler weather and isn't a fan of the Texas heat. She would likely thrive in a more temperate or northern climate where she can comfortably enjoy outdoor adventures year-round. She does best with cats that are comfortable around dogs and won't be intimidated by her size or curiosity.
Ongoing Health
Gloria is fully vetted, microchipped and has received a 12-month Pro-Heart shot for a year of heartworm prevention.
Training & Support
Gloria's gentle, submissive nature makes her very responsive to verbal guidance. She is crate trained, potty trained, nondestructive, and sleeps soundly through the night. Based on her easy transition into home life, we believe she may have previously lived as an indoor/outdoor family dog. Slow introductions and proper management during the adjustment period will help ensure a smooth transition into a home with cats.
