Meet Harlen, a social, happy, and affectionate girl who is estimated to be around 1.5 years old and weighs about 69 pounds. Harlen is a wiggly bundle of joy, always eager to greet her friends with enthusiasm. She's a likely pittie mix whose personality shines from the moment you meet her. Harlen thrives when surrounded by friends, both human and canine. She's wonderful with other dogs, adapting beautifully to various play styles. She was a perfect playmate to a dog who was like her male twin, and with younger dogs, she's playful and confident. She's also respectful of calmer dogs, offering gentle invitations to play.
Ideal Home
Harlen would be happy in either a house with a yard or an apartment, as long as she gets enough exercise. She is adaptable, affectionate, and very connected to her people. A family that enjoys playtime, walks, and laughing at her goofy antics will be a perfect match.

Harlen is up-to-date on all vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, flea prevention, and heartworm preventative.
Training & Support
Harlen is young and will benefit from ongoing training and practice. She has great basic leash skills but could use a little polishing. She is eager, responsive, and loves to check in with her people. Harlen is also cat-tolerant and showed great emotional control during an introduction with a resident cat. While a slow introduction at home is still recommended, her behavior was very encouraging. She has no resource guarding concerns with dogs or humans, though she is known to "steal" unattended snacks. A little guidance and remembering not to leave tempting treats accessible will prevent this from being an issue.

Harlen is located in Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue-run USDA-certified transport system. Transport drop-off locations include WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada. Canadian adopters can pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. A $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
