Rosie

Rosie is a sweet, loyal companion with a touch of mystery! We believe she's a Blue Heeler and German Shepherd mix, and at approximately 2 years old and 50 lbs, she's a medium-energy girl. Rosie came to us as a stray from Bedford County, VA, so her past is unknown, but she's eager to make new memories. She's a bit shy at first, taking her time to warm up to new people and furry friends. However, once she trusts you, she's an absolute love bug! Rosie has a strong prey drive, making squirrels and deer a serious temptation, so recall can be a challenge when her chase instinct kicks in. She enjoys a good toy and a relaxing day, but she's also happy to play.

Ideal Home

Rosie would do best in a home without very small children, as she can sometimes be a bit boisterous. However, she has done well with a dog-savvy 5-year-old! She's not been cat tested, and due to her prey drive, we don't believe she'd be a good fit for a feline household. She's shown herself to be friendly towards other dogs encountered on walks, though slow introductions will be key if you have resident dogs.

Ongoing Health

Rosie is up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped, and on preventatives.

Training & Support

Rosie is crate and potty trained and walks well on a leash. Her recall can be unreliable when prey is involved, so continued training in this area will be beneficial.
