Jovan is a handsome 3-year-old mixed breed boy who weighs 54lbs. He came to us as a very fearful dog and initially found the shelter environment overwhelming. Since arriving, he has been making steady progress and is beginning to build trust with the staff and handlers who care for him each day. Once Jovan has a chance to get to know someone, his confidence starts to shine through. With a gentle, patient approach, he warms up fairly quickly and has shown that he wants to connect with the people around him. As his trust grows, so does his ability to relax and engage. For someone willing to invest a little patience and kindness, Jovan has the potential to become a devoted and rewarding companion.

Jovan is looking for an understanding adopter who will give him the time and space he needs to settle into a new home and continue building confidence at his own pace. At this time, we recommend a home without children.
