Jimmy is a 1.5-year-old, 45-pound, neutered male Pitbull Terrier mix who is currently in a foster home in Houston, Texas. He's a happy-go-lucky, energetic boy who loves to make friends, both human and canine. Jimmy has two speeds: full throttle and full snuggle. He wakes up every day ready to play and is always eager to engage in games. He loves other dogs of all sizes and thrives in group play settings, though he is still learning to read more reserved dogs and can come on a bit strong during introductions. When playtime is over, he's happy to curl up on the couch or lounge nearby. Jimmy is affectionate, playful, and smart, always wanting to be near his people. He has a mischievous smirk that matches his fun-loving personality.
Ideal Home
Jimmy would thrive in an active home where he gets plenty of exercise, attention, and affection. A yard is a bonus, but not required. He would love a work-from-home human or an active family who will include him in daily life. Another playful dog could be a great match. He may be too enthusiastic for very young children without supervision and has not been tested with cats, but may chase at this stage.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are mentioned.
Training & Support
Jimmy is still polishing his leash manners and can pull when excited. He is very curious about the world around him. With consistency and some solo walks, he will continue to improve quickly as he is very food and praise-motivated and eager to learn. Crate training is a work in progress, but he is making great strides. He can be left alone for moderate periods (4-6 hours), especially with another dog. He has no resource guarding.
