Duque is a 4-year-old, 42 lb. male English Shepherd mix with a striking black and white coat. He's a friendly and loving boy who adapts quickly to new people and places. Duque enjoys being petted, spending time with his family, and going for walks. He is potty trained and leash trained, making him a well-balanced companion ready for an active home.
Ideal Home
Duque would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. He needs a family with a genuine intention to rescue and who understands the needs of rescued animals, including potential behaviors requiring protection and education. Experience with dog behavior and training is preferred, or a willingness to hire a trainer. Families must have high tolerance and patience for rescued pups, understanding that he is not house-trained.
Ongoing Health
Duque has received a comprehensive health protocol including:
- Spay/Neuter Certificate
- 2 shots of DHPPI Vaccine
- Rabies Vaccine
- Bordetella Vaccine
- Deworming
- Microchip
- 4DX Test and Certificate
- Negative Heartworm Test Certificate
- Monthly Preventive Protection (Nexgard Spectra for fleas, ticks, and heartworm)
- Health Certificate
- Vaccines booklet
Training & Support
Duque is not house-trained. Potential adopters should be prepared for the adjustment period common with rescued dogs, as they may have fears and anxieties due to past experiences. Patience, understanding, and a safe, loving environment will help build trust and strengthen the bond. Establishing a routine and clear boundaries will help him feel secure.

Transporation
Duque is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip. Transportation is door-to-door delivery. We organize 3-4 trips per year with a minimum of 15-20 adoptions per trip. Our contracted transport company, based in Montana, sends a team to Mexico to collect adopted pets. Each pet has all necessary legal documents, including a Transport Contract and Health Certificate from the USDA. For US adoptions, pets are escorted across the border into Texas. For Canadian adoptions, pets are delivered to the nearest US-Canada border. Adopters will be added to a private Facebook Messenger group for real-time updates on the journey. The transport fee is $400 USD.
