Meet Jasper!

Jasper is a soulful three-and-a-half-year-old Border Collie/Rottweiler mix with a stunning merle coat. He's a calm, loving companion who is as loyal as he is gentle. Jasper enjoys being close to his people and will often follow you from room to room, just to be in your presence.

Ideal Home

Jasper thrives in peaceful surroundings and would do best in a home with calm or older children who understand how to interact gently. He can become uneasy with loud or high-energy play, so a respectful and quiet home environment will help him feel safe and content. A fenced-in yard is preferred for his safety and comfort.

Ongoing Health

Jasper is a healthy boy with no known ongoing health conditions.

Training & Support

Jasper is fully house-trained, crate-trained, and comfortable being left alone. He is a food-motivated and clever dog who knows many commands, including sit, stay, paw, spin, and "middle." While he enjoys slow, sniffy walks, he has developed reactivity towards unfamiliar dogs due to past traumatic experiences. He may bark or lunge at dogs he doesn't know, especially near fences or in close proximity. He is working through this with training and patient support, and has shown he can do well with familiar dogs in controlled settings. He can be startled by loud noises, but settles easily with reassurance.

Jasper is currently in Colorado Springs, CO. He is open to a long-distance adoption and can be transported to his new home.
