Hi, my name is Ned! I'm a handsome boy with a beautiful coat that looks black but shimmers with brown in the sun, and I've got adorable white tips on my toes. My facial expression might be a little grumpy, but I promise, I'm a happy and loving pup! I arrived in Minnesota from New Mexico with my siblings, Dusty and Lucky, as part of "The Three Amigos." I'm already a pro at potty training and am well-behaved enough to be trusted outside my kennel when you're away. At night, I'm a champion snuggler and love to sleep right by my foster mom's side. I've mastered "sit," "off," "come," and "wait," and I'm working hard on "down" and "stay." I think training classes would be a blast and a great way for us to bond!
When it comes to playtime, I'm all about chasing anything that rolls, engaging in tug-of-war with unstuffed toys, and sniffing out hidden treats. I do have a tendency to "counter surf," but I'm learning to curb that habit with consistent redirection. My snuggling skills are world-class; I can provide comfort and cuddles anytime, anywhere. While I may sound a bit unusual when scared – my bark is higher-pitched than you might expect – it doesn't happen often. I love to wrestle and play with dogs of all sizes. My foster mom affectionately calls me "Jaws" because I love to show off my gums and teeth when I play, a playful way to seem bigger and tougher! Another of my nicknames is "Snuffles" because I enjoy using a snuffle mat for my meals, which helps me eat at a more leisurely pace. I'm also a fast drinker, so my water is rationed throughout the day. I've happily bonded with my 10-year-old human foster sister and enjoy meeting her friends, so I'm friendly with kids! I haven't met a cat yet, but I'm sure I'd approach them with friendly curiosity. I get along well with the other dogs in my foster home, but as the smallest, I sometimes get pushed around.
Ideal Home
I really need to live with another dog! I look to my foster brother for support, comfort, and warmth daily, and I need a canine companion to lean on, cuddle with, and wrestle. I'm not built to be an only dog.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions were mentioned, but I am a fast drinker and require my water to be rationed.
Training & Support
I am potty and kennel trained. I know "sit," "off," "come," and "wait," and I'm learning "down" and "stay." I am working on not being a counter surfer. I can bark and jump up a little when meeting new people, but I try to show I'm a good boy.
