Plum

Plum is a 2-year-old, 35lb Aussie x Heeler mix who is bursting with intelligence, drive, and enthusiasm for life. Months in a kennel have taken a toll, and she desperately needs a home that understands the heart and mind of a cattle dog. Plum is spayed, heartworm negative, and incredibly dog social, though her play style is very rough-and-tumble. She thrives on activity, engagement, and having an outlet for her physical energy and busy Heeler brain. Volunteers believe she is highly trainable and eager to learn, but she needs someone willing to invest the time to teach her what life outside the shelter looks like. She has been waiting since April 20th and time is running out. If you've loved a Heeler before, you know that once they choose you, they give you their whole heart. Ideal Home

Plum is looking for an adult-only home or a home with older, dog-savvy teens due to her herding instincts and tendency to nip. She would not be a good fit for cats or other small animals.
