Meet Dax!

I'm Dax, also known as Daxy Boy sometimes! I'm a handsome 7-year-old fellow who's already neutered and up to date on vaccines. I'm a pro at house-training and will hold it until I get outside, unless my tummy is a bit upset. While I can be a little shy when first meeting new people, I warm up quickly if you let me approach you at my own pace. A little bit of cheese goes a long way in making friends with me! My favorite things include lounging in the sun, car rides, and those exciting "walkies." Once I feel comfortable, I might even try to snuggle up on your lap like a small dog! Before coming to rescue, I was used to being outdoors and found kennels quite stressful. I'm doing much better in a specialized "Alcatraz" style kennel now, especially with a treat for going in. I can be a bit vocal about not wanting to be kenneled, so an apartment setting might not be the best fit for me.

Ideal Home

I think I would do best in a home without apartments. I'm not sure how I'd do with kids, so a home without them or with older children who understand when I need my space would be ideal. I do really like other dogs, though I can sometimes be a bit too enthusiastic with male dogs. I'm also happy to be the only pet in the home.

Ongoing Health

I'm up to date on my vaccinations. I really dislike bath time, and I'm not afraid to show it, but my foster mom is working on making it a more positive experience.

Training & Support

I'm house-trained and know not to go inside, as long as my tummy is okay! I can be a bit too forward with other male dogs, so I may need gentle guidance to respect their space.

Transporation
