Blondie is the kind of dog who makes you wonder how something so loving could have ever been abandoned.

After being dumped in La Marque, Blondie survived by hiding under a house while kind people fed him and tried to gain his trust. For over a month, nobody stepped forward to help him. During that time, he was even rolled under a car, though thankfully he escaped without injuries.

Despite everything he’s endured, Blondie remains incredibly sweet and affectionate. He longs to be close to his people and will happily trail behind you from room to room just to feel connected and safe.

He is currently fostered with a two-year-old child and has done wonderfully with kids. He also gets along great with other dogs and pays no attention to cats. Blondie appears to be house trained as well and has adapted quickly to indoor life.

Because of his abandonment history, Blondie struggles with separation anxiety and becomes distressed when left alone. He doesn’t destroy things — he simply cries because he’s scared of losing his people again. He can also be cautious around strangers initially, but once he feels safe, he blossoms into an incredibly loyal and loving companion.

Blondie deserves a patient and compassionate family willing to show him that he will never again be left behind.
