Meet Stan! If you've been looking for a loyal best friend with the cutest ears you've ever seen, Stan is waiting for you. This handsome 12-year-old Chihuahua/Jack Russell Terrier mix weighs 28 pounds, making him the perfect medium-sized companion. Not too big, not too small—just the right size for adventures, cuddles, and everything in between. Stan found himself in a high-kill shelter where he spent nearly a month waiting for someone to choose him. As time ran out, he was placed on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, we were able to rescue both Stan and his kennel mate, Amy, just in time. When we picked him up, he was absolutely covered in ticks—more than we've ever seen on a single dog. But after a much-needed bath, medication, and plenty of love, Stan quickly realized he was finally safe. Watching him relax and begin to trust again has been incredibly rewarding. Stan can be a little shy when meeting new people, but give him just a little time and you'll discover an incredibly sweet, affectionate boy who loves being loved. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs, enjoys kids, and has a gentle, kind personality that makes him an easy addition to almost any family. And those ears? They're impossible not to fall in love with. Stan has already survived more than any dog should have to. Now he's ready to experience the life every dog deserves—a warm bed, a loving family, and someone to call his own.
