Roxann is a 9-week-old, 5lb Blue Heeler mix who arrived with a story! She was found all by herself in a live trap in the woods of Kentucky. Thankfully, a child discovered her and alerted their family, who then took her to their local shelter. Knowing that a shelter isn't the ideal place for a young puppy, she was placed in a foster home, and we were contacted for assistance.
American Cattle Dogs are known for their immense work drive, boundless energy, and loyalty. They excel at various activities and make excellent running partners. They are smart, tenacious, and alert, but can be wary of strangers and may get into mischief if not mentally and physically challenged.
Roxann is a very sweet pup who should do well with children (over 5 years old), dogs, and cats. She is expected to grow into a sturdy, medium-sized dog, weighing between 35-50lbs. While a little shy initially, she is adjusting well to her foster home.
Ideal Home
A home within 80 miles of Adams, NY. Previous or current pets must be up to date on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Roxann would thrive in a home where she can receive plenty of socialization and training.
Ongoing Health
Roxann had her initial vet check and is current on vaccines and dewormings. She is on prescription flea and tick medication and will be spayed prior to adoption.
Training & Support
As a puppy, Roxann will need socialization and training to help her thrive. It is recommended that owners participate in activities, sports, or regular exercise to keep her mentally and physically fit.

- A veterinary reference check is required. Please call your veterinarian's office to ensure they can provide this.
- All family members must attend a meet and greet.
- If you have resident dogs, they must also attend the meet and greet.
- An adoption donation of $500 is required for adoptions. Fostering is free.
Transportation
Roxann is located in Adams, NY. Pets must be transported to our veterinary office in Adams for care until adoption. After adoption, we recommend establishing care with your own veterinarian. Pets cannot be shipped to their new homes.
