Cookie is a gentle and loving Labrador mix with a sweet, loyal nature. She is a wonderful companion who enjoys being close to her people and brings calm, comforting energy to those around her. She gets along well with other dogs and children. Cookie is very noble, affectionate, and loyal, making her an excellent family dog. She can be a little nervous at times, especially in new situations, but with patience and kindness, she settles in and shows her trusting heart. One of Cookie’s favorite things is looking out the window. It makes her happy to watch the world go by, especially during car rides or quiet moments at home. Cookie was born underneath a house that was completely in ruins, during freezing, below-zero temperatures. Despite such a harsh beginning, she has grown into a resilient and loving dog who is ready for a safe, warm, and forever home. She weighs approximately 48 lbs and is about 2.5 years old.
Ideal Home
Cookie would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. She would do best with a family that has an open conscience about the needs of rescued street animals and understands their need for protection and education. Families with experience in dog behavior and training, and who have high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies, would be a great fit.
Ongoing Health
Cookie has been spayed and is up-to-date on DHPPI, Rabies, and Bordetella vaccines. She has been dewormed, tested negative for heartworm, and has a health certificate and vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
Cookie is not house-trained. The rescue understands that with many foster pets, it's impossible to house-train each one. They invest significant time and resources into rehabbing their foster animals' health and emotional well-being, and while they cannot guarantee house-training, they provide guidance on integrating a new dog into your home.
