Hello, my name is Bean! I'm a sweet, handsome puppy with a pouty face, expressive eyebrows, and big paws that make me a bit clumsy. I'm a silly and quirky boy who loves to ham it up and be the center of attention. I collect my toys in my bed and walk around with them proudly! I enjoy being close to my humans and check in frequently, sometimes even falling asleep sitting up because I don't want to miss a thing. I came up from Texas with my brother, and I'm excited to find my own loving home.
Ideal Home
Bean would be a good dog for a first-time puppy owner. He would love a family with at least one person who has time to give him lots of attention and love. He enjoys being busy in the house and yard and then taking naps near his human. He'd love a best friend to spend most of the day with. While he's not currently living with other dogs, he has a lot of play energy and thinks another dog would be a good way to help him expend that energy. He plays with pre-teen neighbors regularly and warms up quickly to new friends, though he always checks in with his foster parents. He also lives with cats and has learned to back off when reminded, generally not paying them much attention and showing no prey drive.
Ongoing Health
Bean is mostly potty trained, but can have accidents when he gets too excited during play. He sleeps soundly in his kennel all night, but may protest a little when kenneled during the day before settling down. He is currently teething and enjoys chewing on toys, particularly bones and harder plastic toys, and loves to rip up stuffies. He also enjoys playing tug-of-war with rope toys.
Training & Support
Bean knows "sit" and loves to show off this trick! He's learning to walk on a leash, though sometimes his stubborn "Mastiff side" shows, and he'd rather play inside or in the yard. He's also learning "leave it" and the difference between toys and non-toys. He's attentive and smart and would do well in a training or obedience course in a few months when he's a little older and more confident around new sights and smells. He is highly trainable and will be capable of going anywhere and doing anything with some guidance.
