Faye is a sweet 7-year-old Shih Tzu who weighs about 10 pounds. She came to us through an owner surrender due to their owner's medical emergency. Faye is a gentle soul who is eager for hugs and attention, but she's not pushy about it. Her tail is always wagging, and her soft eyes show just how easy she is to love! Faye enjoys the company of other dogs and is willing to share her bed. She's been working on harness and leash training, as well as learning "sit," "recall," and "look." We expect her new family to continue her positive reinforcement training to help her thrive.
Ideal Home
Faye would love a home where people are around most of the time, and she can share your sofa and bedroom. She thrives on constant companionship, day and night. While she can tolerate a few hours alone, it's best if she has another dog for company. Older children will be considered on a case-by-case basis, provided they have experience with dogs, understand dog behavior, and are respectful. Faye is not a fan of crates, so if crating is a must for your lifestyle, she may not be the best fit. A securely fenced backyard or outdoor space would be ideal but not required.
Ongoing Health
Faye is spayed and up-to-date on her Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, and Corona/flu vaccines. She passed a 4DX test, meaning she is negative for heartworm, Lyme disease, ehrlichia, and anaplasmosis. She had a dental cleaning in June 2026, and her bloodwork from June 2026 showed all numbers within normal ranges. She is microchipped, has had a negative fecal test, and is up-to-date on flea/tick prevention, heartworm prevention, and dewormer. A good health certificate will be provided with her medical records. Faye has hair, not fur, and it will require professional grooming every 4-6 weeks.
Training & Support
Faye is learning to be comfortable with a harness and leash and is working on basic commands like "sit," "recall," and "look." Continued positive reinforcement training sessions are important to help her feel safe and confident in her new home. Basic foundational skills training with a certified professional positive reinforcement trainer is required for Faye's adoption.
