About Bear

Bear is a 6-year-old, 80-pound snuggle tank who’s equal parts muscle and mush. He spent his whole life with one devoted owner, but after they passed away, Bear was left behind by the family. Now he’s on the lookout for a new forever person (or people) who’ll love him like he deserves. Bear’s a bit picky about his dog friends — he’s more of a “vibes have to match” kind of guy. He does great with laid-back or submissive pups, and once everyone’s properly introduced, he’s down for some polite play. With his beefy build, it’s important he meets new dogs the right way — think calm intros and slow tail wags. New places can make Bear a little nervous at first. He’s the type who scopes out the room before kicking off his shoes and calling it home. Give him a little time, and soon you’ll catch him snoring on the couch like he’s lived there forever. Now, people? Oh, Bear lives for people. He’s a total fanboy for humans — especially the guys. Expect big tail wags, lean-ins, and possibly a joyful bounce or two when he sees his favorite humans. Because of his enthusiasm, he’d do best with older kids or teens who can handle 80 pounds of happy. Bear says no thanks to cats and small animals — too tempting. But give him a mellow dog buddy, a cozy spot to crash, and someone to love, and he’s all in.

Ideal Home

Bear would do best with older kids or teens who can handle his enthusiastic greetings. He would prefer a home without cats or small animals.
