Meet Arthur! This handsome 5-year-old, 78-pound Staffordshire Terrier/Retriever mix has a personality as big as his heart. Arthur was found wandering a park and, after being brought to the county shelter, was rescued by a loving foster family. He's a joyful dog who approaches each day with enthusiasm, ready for adventure and affection in equal measure. Arthur is a moderate-energy boy who enjoys playtime, exploring new sights and smells, and most of all, spending time with his people.
Ideal Home
Arthur would thrive in a home that can provide regular exercise and structure, and where he can be an integral part of the family. While he doesn't require another dog to be happy, he would do best with people who enjoy including their dog in everyday adventures. Because of his size and playful nature, a home with children who are older and understand how to interact with an energetic dog would be ideal.
Ongoing Health
Arthur is a healthy boy with no ongoing health conditions to report.
Training & Support
Arthur is fully house-trained and crate-trained, settling nicely in his crate for extended periods. He rides beautifully in the car and absolutely loves car rides! While he may pull a bit on his leash at first, he quickly settles into a good walking routine. Arthur is generally well-behaved but, due to his size and excitement, he could accidentally knock over a small child during play. Introductions to new pets should always be supervised, though Arthur has shown curiosity and no aggression towards cats and pigs.
