Wanda is a sweet 2-3 year old, 38 lb bundle of fun, a mix of Staffordshire Bull Terrier. She was found wandering the streets, malnourished and covered in ticks and fleas, searching for a safe place to rest and some food. Despite her rough start, Wanda is incredibly active, playful, social with adults, energetic, and full of love to give. She can be a bit particular with canine companions and isn't social with big dogs. While she's been fine with small dogs, we think Wanda would be happiest as the only dog in her new home.
Ideal Home
Wanda would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard, where she can safely explore and play. She's looking for an active family who enjoys outdoor adventures and daily walks, as she has plenty of energy to share. Experience with her breed is preferred, and a family with an open mind about the needs and behaviors of rescued animals, along with experience in dog behavior and training, will be ideal. She'll need a family with high tolerance and patience as she continues her journey.
Ongoing Health
Wanda has received extensive medical care to get her ready for her forever home. This includes being spayed/neutered, receiving DHPPI, Rabies, and Bordetella vaccines, and being dewormed. She's tested negative for heartworm and has also undergone a 4DX test. To keep her protected, she receives monthly Nexgard Spectra for fleas, ticks, and heartworm prevention. She comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
Wanda is not yet house-trained, so her new family will need to continue working on this. We understand that house-training every rescued pet is a challenge due to the sheer number of animals needing care, but we are committed to rehabilitating their health and emotional well-being. Your patience and understanding will be key to Wanda's success.

Transportation
Wanda is currently being fostered in Matamoros, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast as part of our cross-country trip. Transportation is available to the East Coast, with delivery to the adopter's home address. A transport fee of $400.00, paid by the adopter prior to departure, covers this service by a professional transport company.
