Hi there! I’m Velma, and I’m a truly delightful and fun-loving girl looking for my forever home. My previous family had to say goodbye to me when a new baby joined their household, and they worried they couldn't give me all the attention I deserve. Thankfully, AHF stepped in, and now I’m ready to find my perfect match!
My foster family says I'm an absolute pleasure to be around – a real dream dog, in fact! I'm friendly, smart, and wonderfully house-trained and crate-trained. I'm so respectful of my home that I don't even need to be crated when my people are out; I'm happy to entertain myself with toys or simply enjoy a good nap.
Speaking of toys, they're my absolute favorite! I love to play, especially with my furry friends. I get along wonderfully with all people and dogs, though I haven't had the chance to meet any cats yet, so I'm unsure how we'd get along. What makes me happiest is receiving attention and engaging in playtime, whether it's a game of fetch, a fun tug-of-war, or even just chilling by the pool on a warm day. Walks and car rides also get me incredibly excited! As a larger girl, I’m quite strong and could use some help perfecting my leash-walking skills.
Ideal Home
I'm looking for an active family who has plenty of time to shower me with affection and enjoys cuddling up at the end of the day. A fenced yard would be fantastic for me to run and play in!

Training & Support
I’m already house-trained and crate-trained. While I’m generally a well-behaved girl, I would benefit from some continued practice with leash walking to help me master my strength.

- This is a Pay It Forward dog; the adoption donation of $750 helps save another pup in need.
- Almost Home Foundation accepts only cash, checks, or Zelle for adoption fees.
