Melody is a truly special girl with a poetic soul! She's a gorgeous, golden-toned German Shepherd, about 5 to 6 years old and weighing around 60lbs. Melody is thoughtful, observant, and intelligent, and she would absolutely love to explore the world right by your side. She's a dream on leash, loves her walks, and isn't shy about leaning in for a good head scratch and expressing her appreciation. Melody is a fantastic ball player – she'll happily chase after it for hours! But once the game is over, she's more than ready to trade all that running and fetching for some quality cuddle and snuggle time on the couch. She gets along wonderfully with the horses, cows, goats, and donkeys at the Rescue Ranch, but she can be a bit selective with other dogs. While she's generally better with smaller dogs, a home where she's the only canine companion would likely be her best fit.

Melody would thrive in a home where she can be your devoted companion and join you on your adventures. She'd also love to relax with you during quiet evenings at home. Melody would likely do best in a home without other dogs, or with a small, calm dog.

Melody is already an excellent leash walker. She's eager to please and will surely continue to be a joy to train.

Transportation
Melody is currently being fostered at our Rescue Ranch near Houston, TX. She is an "out of town pet" and is not at our main facility. However, we have transport services available! Once your application is approved, Melody can be brought close to your home on our rescue transport, which travels through many areas once a month. This transport service is provided by AJC Rescue & Transport, a highly-regarded service that ensures a safe and comfortable journey for our pets. You will be included in a group chat to track Melody's progress and will be given an exact location and estimated time of arrival.
