Katydid

Meet Katydid, a sweet 13-year-old Lab/Retriever mix who weighs around 45 pounds. She's a charming girl with a gentle and quiet demeanor, perfect for someone seeking a loving companion. Katydid was cherished her entire life, but unfortunately, her owner had to move to a senior living facility. Thankfully, Speak! for the Unspoken stepped in to ensure she continues her life in a warm, loving home. She thrives on simple pleasures: following her favorite person around, receiving gentle pets, and hearing sweet words of affirmation. As a senior lady in her golden years, she prefers a peaceful environment and a home where her human is around as much as possible. While she enjoys leisurely walks to explore the world, she needs more frequent potty breaks during the day, though she'll happily sleep soundly by your bedside all night.

Ideal Home

Katydid would love a quieter home where she can be your shadow and receive plenty of affection. She’s content outside of a crate and doesn't require a fenced yard. She gets along with other dogs and, with proper introductions, can also do well with cats. She has experience with children and is good with them. She doesn't need another dog in the home.

Ongoing Health

Katydid is currently free of any known impairments.

Training & Support

Katydid is already potty trained, though she benefits from frequent trips outside. She knows basic commands like "sit" and comes when called by her name. She’s an old soul who would appreciate a consistent and calm routine.
