Jersey

Jersey is a joyful, approximately 5- to 6-year-old Staffy girl who was rescued from the streets of Houston in April 2024. She's a tail-wagging wiggle butt who loves pets, cuddles, and being the center of attention. A true people-pleaser, Jersey is eager to make her humans happy and responds well to simple commands and redirection. She's also a pro at sitting for treats! Jersey is happy as an indoor city dweller, and she's already potty-trained, leash-trained, and crate-trained. She prefers to free-roam her home as much as possible, usually finding a comfy spot on the couch to relax.

Ideal Home

Jersey seems content as an only dog, but she also gets along nicely with both smaller and similarly sized to slightly larger dogs, provided proper introductions are made. She has shown curiosity, rather than aggression, towards neighborhood cats and can be cat-tested if needed. While she hasn't been kid-tested, this can also be arranged. Jersey is a big fan of her antlers and bones. In shared spaces, it would be best for her to be with another dog who either doesn't mind or is willing to share these items, or for Jersey to have temporary crate time to enjoy her treasures without interruptions.

Ongoing Health

Jersey is spayed, fully vaccinated (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), heartworm negative, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm preventative.

Training & Support

Jersey is house-trained, leash-trained, and crate-trained. She is responsive to redirection and simple commands.
