Shep is a stunning shepherd mix who, at 9 years old, still has the heart of a playful pup! He's a goofy, affectionate boy who loves toys, treats, and belly rubs, always ready with a happy tail wag. Shep is currently finding kennel life a bit stressful and is really longing for a calm, loving home where he can truly relax and decompress. He would absolutely flourish with the quiet attention a home environment can provide. For this reason, he's available for foster or adoption!

Shep weighs 68 lbs, but don't let his size fool you – this mature gent has excellent manners. He doesn't jump, takes treats gently, and is generally very sweet and well-behaved. He's pretty low-energy for the most part and listens well. You can see more of his wonderful personality in his profile video, where volunteers captured glimpses of his amazing nature during a walk and a fun day out at a sniffspot. He loves to swim and was quite unbothered by other dogs at the sniffspot, showing a completely different, relaxed side of himself away from the kennel. Shep can be a bit picky about his canine companions, so if you have a dog in your home, we'd love for them to meet Shep to ensure a good fit.

Shep can get a little barky around the kennel environment, but he shows good behavior around other dogs when he's out and about.
