Cookie is a gentle and loving Labrador mix with a sweet, loyal nature. She is a wonderful companion who enjoys being close to her people and brings calm, comforting energy to those around her. She gets along well with other dogs and children, making her an excellent family dog. Cookie can be a little nervous at times, especially in new situations, but with patience and kindness, she settles in and shows her trusting heart. One of her favorite things is looking out the window, and she also enjoys car rides. Cookie was born during freezing temperatures underneath a ruined house, but despite her harsh beginning, she has grown into a resilient and loving dog ready for a safe, warm, and forever home.
Ideal Home
Cookie would thrive with an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. Homeowners with a fenced backyard are preferred. Families with an open conscience about the needs of rescued street animals, and who have experience with dog behavior and training backgrounds, with high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies, will be a great fit.
Ongoing Health
Cookie has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated for DHPPI, Rabies, and Bordetella, and dewormed. She has tested negative for heartworm and has a health certificate and vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
Cookie is not house trained and will need continued patience and support in this area. The rescue has invested significant time and resources in the rehabilitation of rescued pets and is unable to house-train each one individually. Adopters should be prepared for this aspect of her care.

- After your application is reviewed, a phone/email interview will be scheduled.
- A virtual or in-person home check will be conducted.
- A virtual meet and greet with Cookie and her foster family will be arranged.
- If all parties agree it's a good fit, an adoption contract will be provided, including a trial adoption period.
Transportation
Cookie is currently being fostered in Houston, Texas. She is available for transport to the East Coast and the PNW. A transport fee of $400.00, paid by the adopter prior to departure, will apply for this service provided by a transport company.
