Thor Good Shepherd

Thor is a 4-month-old German Shepherd with a striking black and beige coat and a calm, wise demeanor that belies his young age. He's a gentle soul who enjoys observing the world but is also ready to join in playtime when the mood strikes. Thor has a perfect balance of independence and affection, happy to do his own thing one moment and then snuggle up beside you the next. He's an "introverted extrovert" – quiet and content on his own, but blossoms with interaction and will even offer sweet vocalizations when enjoying attention. Rescued from the Galveston shelter and now in foster care, Thor has adapted beautifully to home life, responding well to routine and structure. He's slept through the night, is kennel trained, and is learning commands. Thor gets along well with other dogs and is comfortable around adults, proving to be an adaptable and steady companion.

Thor is currently in the Houston area, Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue-run USDA-certified transport system. This system ensures every pet travels safely and comfortably with 24/7 care. Drop-off locations include WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada. For Canadian adopters, pick up is available in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. You can track your pet's journey in real time and receive photo updates. A video call will be arranged before finalizing the adoption to create a personalized experience.
