About Dahlia Daisy Flower the MINI Lab

Dahlia is an 11-month-old "itty bitty labbie pittie" who is as delicate and beautiful as the flower she's named after. She's a sweet and loving pup who currently weighs around 35 pounds and is expected to reach a maximum of 40-45 pounds. Dahlia loves her mornings, starting with a potty break and some zoomies before heading out for a brisk walk. She's a near-perfect leash walker, unless there's a squirrel! She enjoys hitting the trails and parks, making new friends, and is especially fond of swimming in creeks and rivers, making her an ideal camping companion.

Dahlia is a great office companion, snoozing by her foster mom's side during the workday and enjoying play breaks with the other four dogs in the home. She gets along wonderfully with small and large dogs alike. When playing with smaller dogs, it's important they can assert their boundaries. Dahlia's favorite pastimes include chasing pinecones and carrying around big sticks.

Ideal Home

Dahlia would be happiest with another playful dog in the home or with regular visits to doggy daycare, as she thrives on canine companionship. She could do well in a dog-friendly apartment or condo with sufficient exercise. While not yet tested with cats or children, she is expected to do well with respectful children aged 8 and up. Dahlia is a fantastic copilot in the car and enjoys the ride. She has a good appetite but eats at a relaxed pace.

Ongoing Health

All vetting is up to date, including DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12-month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, and a microchip with free lifetime registration.

Training & Support

Dahlia is crate and house trained. She may cry in her crate when initially left alone, but she does settle. This is something to consider for homes with shared walls. It's expected that this routine will need to be re-established in her new home. Eventually, she would love to share the bed with her humans.
