Scout

Scout is a sweet, playful, and affectionate male Rat Terrier, approximately 3-4 years old and weighing around 14 lbs. He's brimming with personality and loves to run, play, and cuddle with his people. Scout is very sociable and gets along well with other dogs, children, men, and women, making him a wonderful companion for many families.

Scout was rescued after a frightening incident where larger dogs attacked him. Thankfully, he only sustained a few scratches and was very scared but allowed himself to be gently picked up. Despite this trauma, Scout has shown incredible resilience and a loving spirit. He is now safe, healthy, and ready for a new chapter filled with the care and love he truly deserves. Ideal Home

Scout would thrive in an active family that enjoys outdoor activities and has a home with a fenced backyard. Families should have a genuine intention to rescue and understand the need for protection and education with street animals. Experience with dog behavior and training is preferred, or a willingness to hire a trainer. He needs a family with high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies.

Ongoing Health

Scout has received a comprehensive health protocol including: Spay/Neuter Certificate, 2 DHPPI Vaccines, Rabies Vaccine, Bordetella Vaccine, he has been dewormed, microchipped, tested with a 4DX test and certificate, has a negative Heartworm test certificate, and is on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive protection for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. He also has a Health Certificate and a Vaccines booklet. It's important to understand that rescued dogs may require an adjustment period due to past trauma and may not be house-trained.

Training & Support

Scout is not house-trained and will require patience and consistent training. It's crucial for his new family to be understanding and patient during his adjustment period, providing a safe and loving environment, and establishing a routine with clear boundaries.

• Upon approval, an adoption contract will be signed, and an adoption fee will be collected to cover vet care, spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, food, and more.

Transportation

Scout is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on a cross-country trip if adopted. A one-time transport fee of $400 USD covers door-to-door delivery. This service includes scheduled trips with a partnered transport company, comprehensive paperwork (Transport Contract, USDA Health Certificate, health protocol certificates), and real-time updates via a private Facebook Messenger group. The transport team will deliver Scout directly to your home.
