Meet Ralph! This sweet, shy boy was transferred to Animal Friends from a local partner shelter after being removed from a home where he and six other dogs were living in poor conditions. It's believed the home was a breeding operation, and the dogs had not been properly socialized, leading to fearful behaviors. While the shelter staff worked diligently with Ralph, he made slow progress. Animal Friends, known for its expertise with fearful and unsocialized animals, welcomed Ralph into our care, and he's been making positive strides in our Behavior Office! He adores his toys, especially his favorite little yellow ducky, and can often be found amidst a playful mess of them.
Ideal Home
Ralph is a unique dog who will thrive in a home that understands and manages his individual needs. Given his history, he'll likely never be a "typical" dog and requires an adopter committed to maintaining his routine and well-being. An adopter experienced with fearful dogs, especially survivors of commercial breeding operations, would be ideal. A securely fenced backyard is a must, and Ralph would do best in an adult-only home.
Ongoing Health
All our animals, including Ralph, are altered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines before adoption.

Ralph is part of our Foster-To-Adopt Program.
