Gallina has one of the funniest and most unique names in our rescue, and it comes with a story. When he was first found, he was suffering from severe mange; his coat had fallen out almost entirely, and the few stiff hairs remaining looked like little feathers, making him look like a plucked "chicken" (Gallina in Spanish). Today, that name is simply a reminder of how far he has come. Gallina was rescued by Karu Pet Rescue, and at For Happy Tails, we are providing foster care and promotion to find his perfect family. Now fully healthy, he has blossomed into a vibrant, confident, and high-energy boy. He has a Basenji-like look but with a denser, possibly double-layered coat. Gallina is an extremely brave and self-confident boy, energetic, playful, and very sociable with people.
Ideal Home
Gallina coexists very well with other dogs and enjoys their company. He has dominant tendencies and is not afraid to set clear boundaries when necessary. He is well-balanced: he knows how to play but also knows how to command respect within the pack. He has observed cats from a distance without reacting, suggesting he could do well with proper introductions.

Gallina is now fully healthy and has recovered from his mange.

- Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
- The total donation for adoption is 250 USD. This includes a 200 USD adoption fee (supporting Karu Pet Rescue’s mission) and a 50 USD fee for transportation for the border crossing, paid directly to the transporter.
- Your adoption allows both organizations to continue rescuing and rehabilitating dogs in critical situations.
- Gallina will come neutered, with multiple vaccines (DHPPI, Rabies), internal and external deworming, and an ISO identification microchip. He will also come with a collar and leash, and a formal adoption contract.
Transporation
Gallina is located in Tijuana. Delivery is available to Plaza Las Americas in Chula Vista, which is included in the total adoption donation.
