Meet Django!
This bright, two-year-old mixed breed is a handsome boy with a sleek black coat and white accents that frame a thoughtful face. He's about 50 pounds, making him a medium-sized companion who builds deep bonds with his people. Django celebrates your return home like it's the best moment of the day! He's an intelligent and active dog who thrives when he has both connection and purpose. Once he feels comfortable and safe, his sweet, affectionate side shines brightest. He loves to cuddle, lean close for affection, or curl up for a cozy nap.
Adventure is equally important to Django. He absolutely loves toys of every kind and enjoys games of fetch. He also loves walks, runs, and even swimming. He proudly carries a stick or ball during walks as if it's his special job for the day. Django's intelligence also shows in how much he enjoys training and learning. He already knows many cues, including sit, stay, down, come, heel, place, leave it, drop it, and no bark, with "ok" as a release cue. Practicing these skills with positive reinforcement helps keep his mind engaged and happy.
Ideal Home
Django would thrive in a quieter, child-free, and cat-free home, likely as the only dog. He needs an active family who understands reactive dogs and enjoys training.

Django currently takes daily Fluoxetine to help manage anxiety.
Training & Support
Django does experience fear-based reactivity in certain situations, feeling uncertain around unfamiliar noises, unexpected distractions, or dogs encountered while walking on leash. He requires thoughtful management when out in public and benefits from a predictable routine and continued behavior support with an experienced pet parent. He also has a history of resource guarding with another dog around food, toys, or personal space, and there was one minor nip incident involving an unfamiliar person. Meeting guests outside first and allowing him to warm up helps him feel secure. With structure, exercise, and patient guidance, he continues to grow in confidence!
