Sammy (MY26-102)

Sammy is a 1-year-old Poodle/Coton de Tulear mix, weighing 10 pounds, who is ready to find an active and loving home. He is an outgoing, friendly boy who enjoys meeting new people and gets along well with other dogs. Sammy is also very food motivated, which makes him a great candidate for continued training and learning new skills.

This playful young dog has lots of energy and curiosity, and he thrives when he has opportunities to engage both his body and mind. He is looking for a committed adopter who understands the needs of a young, active dog and is willing to keep him physically and mentally stimulated through exercise, enrichment, and ongoing training.

Sammy would do best in a home that can provide structure, consistency, and plenty of positive outlets for his playful energy. With the right guidance and engagement, he has all the potential to grow into a wonderful lifelong companion.

Sammy also requires a home with no young children to help ensure an environment where he can continue to thrive and be successful.

A required in-person meet and greet at the shelter is part of the adoption process to help ensure a good fit for Sammy, any resident dogs, and his potential adopters.

Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly.
