Pearl *Forever in Foster Care*

Pearl is a sweet, approximately 7-9 year old Bichon mix who is a survivor of a puppy mill. She spent her entire life being used as a breeding dog, but those days are now behind her! Pearl has had a complicated health journey since coming into our care. She has a heart murmur, and after an ultrasound, she was started on medication. Once deemed safe, she had extensive dental work and was spayed. Sadly, her recent follow-up cardiac ultrasound revealed she is in late-stage heart disease. Due to her fragile state, she will remain in a "forever foster" situation with her loving foster family, who are overjoyed to keep her. She has adjusted wonderfully to living outside of the puppy mill, learning to walk on a leash, eat from a bowl, and has even started playing with other dogs.

Ideal Home

Pearl will need a relatively quiet home. A safely fenced yard is a must, as she loves spending time outside. While she is friendly, she will need a patient family to help her continue to grow her confidence.

Ongoing Health

Pearl has late-stage heart disease and is on medication. Her ongoing medical care will be supported by Wags.

Training & Support

Pearl is learning new things and is making great progress! She has learned to walk on a leash and eat from a bowl. Continued patience and positive reinforcement will help her thrive.
